A pair of Victorian silver-gilt covered vases

A pair of Victorian silver-gilt covered vases, possibly for spice or chestnuts, each with two finely chased handles in the form of Pan masks, with fluted shoulders and egg and dart rims, a band of acanthus arabesques within rope and beaded guilloche-scroll borders, a lower moulded band flanked by leaves and fluting on a square base, the leaf embossed covers with acanthus borders and bud finials.

London 1874 by Stephen Smith.

and a mahogany carrying case with retailers label.
